Our Team

Bonnie Slater

I am Bonnie Slater, a dedicated mother of two and an experienced birth and postpartum doula, birth doula trainer, and women’s relational leader.

Since 1996, I've had the privilege of supporting more than 700 families through the transformative journey of childbirth, supporting the raw emotions of new parents and the miracle of new life. My experience spans across 15 different hospitals, birth centers, and numerous homes in both Boulder, Colorado and Maui, Hawaii.

Beyond my doula practice, I've contributed to three ob-gyn/midwifery offices as a midwifery assistant. My educational background includes studying psychology and nursing and working end-of-life care. I leverage my skills to create meaningful connections by supporting each unique family during a transformative and vulnerable time of life.

In 2020, I merged my passions for babies, birth and fostering connections to establish Doulas of Maui LLC. This venture is a birth doula training program, conducted biannually and held on the island of Maui. Women who are interested in the birth process, wanting to become pregnant soon, aspire to become doulas or are pregnant can immerse into a 3 day container taking a deep dive into the world of child birth through the path of doula work. I love my career and teaching the art of becoming a doula is an incredibly satisfying to me.

In my free time I love spend time with my children, hike in the Mtns of Boulder, practice yoga, have coffee with friends, swim and take underwater maternity photos.

Ali

My purpose in this lifetime is assisting birthing people and their partners as they transition into parenthood by offering them the tools, information and support they need to achieve a positive, nurtured experience.

My holistic health background allows me to incorporate and honor the mind-body-spirit connection into my practice, while simultaneously respecting allopathic medicine and all it has to offer. Teaching mindfulness and the innate wisdom of the body is something I really enjoy sharing with my clients. Whatever your path and preferences, I am honored to be a part of the magic of this season. When I am not attending births and supporting families in their postpartum window, you can find me spending time with my husband and son Koa, camping, enjoying mountain living, reading a good novel, or cooking something delicious.

Stephanie

Stephanie (she/her) is a birth and postpartum doula and placenta encapsulation specialist. She received a full-spectrum doula certification through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings (BADT) in 2021 and is continuing her education in midwifery, as life allows. Stephanie’s philosophy of birth is rooted in supporting self-directed families through conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum as a rite of passage and spiritual experience. She uses her intuition and deep knowing as a caregiver to support families during this deeply transformative time.

Stephanie’s passage into birthwork began at the point of conception with her first child in 2018. This birth experience awakened her to the calling of community care and midwifery. Stephanie is a strong advocate for people within her care and has an innate sense of attunement for her clients’ needs.

Stephanie’s past experiences prior to birthwork are steeped in passion for helping Mother Earth and being of service. Stephanie works in the nonprofit space and has done so for over 10 years including working with Community Roots Midwife Collective based in Longmont.

Stephanie loves working with many different types of families including single parents, queer folks, and many types of nontraditional families and in various birth settings.

Stephanie lives in Longmont, CO with her two kids. In her freetime, she loves running, hiking, biking, baking, reading and outdoor adventures of many kinds.

She believes that birthers and caregivers not only deserve but need to know that they are supported, respected, and empowered. Molly aims to enable her clients with non-biased and truthful insights around pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She honors all birth choices and emphasizes autonomy and informed consent, offering evidence-based information to help navigate the decision-making process around the perinatal period.

As your birth doula, she puts you at the center, supporting you as your unique story unfolds. In the birth space, she strives to create a peaceful, loving environment, taking your birth wishes into account and ensuring that your voice is heard and you are seen and empowered as you birth your baby.

In her spare time, you’ll find Molly spending time outdoors with her family and dog, wildcrafting plants, doing yoga, making sourdough bread, and always enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Emma

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Emma is extremely passionate about perinatal healthcare for all birthing people. She studied Outdoor Recreation and Wilderness Medicine at Western Washington University before training as a wilderness EMT and working at an advocacy agency for battered Deaf women and children. From a curiosity stemmed from life experiences and a keen interest in her own birth story, she chose to continue her education, becoming a full-spectrum Doula before moving to Boulder, Colorado.

As a Doula for nearly a decade, she has supported hundreds of families in birth and postpartum, while also supporting her community serving as a founding board member at Sanctuary CARES.

When she is not walking alongside her clients through the transformative  experience which is birth and postpartum, she’s playing outside in her garden, climbing rocks, skiing or traveling to experience the gorgeous mountains of the world.
