My Amazing Colleagues
Some years a full moon brings all the babies at the same time. Having trusted and incredible doulas to work with and back each other up is essential. We all love supporting the family and it takes a village.
Rebecca Peterson
Bonnie and Rebecca first met in 2013 while working together in a midwifery clinic in Boulder, where they supported growing families through pregnancy and birth. Their connection became even more meaningful in 2014, when Bonnie served as Rebecca’s doula as Rebecca and her family welcomed their second child, a daughter.
Today, they continue to support families together as birth doulas, bringing their individual strengths, extensive experience, and shared passion for birth into their work. Their strong friendship allows them to support one another personally and professionally, helping each of them remain grounded, inspired, and fully present for the families they serve.
Rebecca is also developing her craft as a birth and maternity photographer, capturing the beauty of pregnancy, birth, and new parenthood through timeless images. She teaches Birthing From Within childbirth classes through Belly Bliss in Denver, offering families thoughtful preparation for the emotional and physical journey of birth.
Balancing family life with the careers they both deeply love has strengthened their friendship and made them better doulas. When they are not attending births, teaching, or supporting families, Bonnie and Rebecca can often be found hiking together or enjoying sushi on their days off.
Ali Sugarman
My purpose in this lifetime is assisting birthing people and their partners as they transition into parenthood by offering them the tools, information and support they need to achieve a positive, nurtured experience.
My holistic health background allows me to incorporate and honor the mind-body-spirit connection into my practice, while simultaneously respecting allopathic medicine and all it has to offer. Teaching mindfulness and the innate wisdom of the body is something I really enjoy sharing with my clients. Whatever your path and preferences, I am honored to be a part of the magic of this season. When I am not attending births and supporting families in their postpartum window, you can find me spending time with my husband and son Koa, camping, enjoying mountain living, reading a good novel, or cooking something delicious.
Molly Turner
Molly is a DONA-trained Birth Doula, as well as a practicing Clinical Herbalist and Nutritionist. She believes that birthers and caregivers not only deserve but need to know that they are supported, respected, and empowered. Molly aims to enable her clients with non-biased and truthful insights around pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She honors all birth choices and emphasizes autonomy and informed consent, offering evidence-based information to help navigate the decision-making process around the perinatal period.
Molly is a mom to three kids and knows—both viscerally and personally—how imperative it is to have someone on your side who is in tune with your needs and desires. As your birth doula, she puts you at the center, supporting you as your unique story unfolds. In the birth space, she strives to create a peaceful, loving environment, taking your birth wishes into account and ensuring that your voice is heard and you are seen and empowered as you birth your baby.
As a Clinical Herbalist, Molly has been working with pregnant women, babies, and children for 20 years. She brings a wealth of herbal and nutritional tools to support birthers during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and the postpartum period, and she deeply believes in the healing power of nature.
In her spare time, you’ll find Molly spending time outdoors with her family and dog, wildcrafting plants, doing yoga, making sourdough bread, and always enjoying a good cup of coffee.
Bonnie Slater
I’ve had the honor of guiding over 800 families through the transformative journey of childbirth as a birth doula. My work has taken me to 15 different hospitals, birth centers, and even a few homes across Boulder County and Denver. Supporting families through the raw emotions of new parenthood and the profound experience of welcoming new life has been a lifestyle I am proud to have lived.
In addition to my traditional hospital doula support, I am proud to be on the handpicked doula team of the only birth center in Boulder, Boulder Birth Holistic Health. I also teach childbirth classes at the birth center monthly (see my schedule under my contact page) and in the privacy of families homes. I’ve served as a midwifery assistant in three ob-gyn/midwifery offices. My background in communication along with my experience in end-of-life care, allows me to build deep, meaningful connections with families during this vulnerable and transformative time.
In 2020, I combined my love for birth, babies, and connection. And created a birth doula training program. The program offers an immersive experience for women interested in the birthing process. Many women have taken the course during their pregnancy. Wanting a career change or simply to be immersed into a 3 day deep dive into the science and art of birth this course is for you.
Once upon a time I lived in Maui, Hawaii. Today I am back in Boulder where I grew up and raised my own children. In my personal time, I enjoy hiking and I can be found laughing over coffee with friends, practicing yoga, spending time with my two children. I look forward to hearing about your pregnancy journey and birth wishes. I believe that there is no wrong way to give birth. Your desires are important and you deserve to be supported.
